I’m Melissa McLaughlin, owner of The Heights Learning Academy, LLC. In the last 10 years, I have worked with children as a Speech and Language Pathology Assistant, taught Middle and High School Mathematics, and most recently developed and taught a one-of-a-kind, Pre-Kindergarten curriculum. Through the years, I have learned that these young “pre-school” children not only absorb a vast range of subjects and interests, but they crave it. There is a demand for later age preschool children to excel in an environment where they are getting a taste of academics. With creativity and modifying lessons to be age appropriate, these children not only are able to exceed expectations and standards in core subject matter, but also learn about geography, the solar system, statistics, voting, Spanish language, history, cultural diversity, and so much more. The Heights Learning Academy is a place for your child to be part of a close knit community, where the children not only learn, but grow as kind, well-mannered young citizens who care about one another.  Academics are so important to The Heights Learning Academy, but it is the confidence, integrity and curiosity our students gain and leave with that leaves a long lasting impression.

Is The Heights Learning Academy the right place for your child?

  • Does your child love to ask questions, learn and be creative?

  • Do you value a small class size, 1 teacher per 8 students?

  • Is individualize attention and accommodation important to your student and your family?

  • Our program is set up to match an academic school year, likely the year before your child attends Kindergarten or TK.  I recommend your child be at least 3.5 years of age when beginning this program.. If you are on the edge with age, please let me know how I can accommodate!

  • In addition to core subjects, The Heights curriculum is full of fun activities, crafts, hands on learning experiences, music, yoga, Spanish and more. My program is designed in a way where your child will have a joyful, fun, interactive day, but all activities are geared towards an academic or developmental goal.

  • Child must be potty trained.
